Stylish Favours

You will find lots of lovely goodies at Emerald and Ella to help put together a stylish affair.

We particularly love all the very sweet items that are perfect for wedding favours and a DIY wedding.

To cake or to cupcake?

If you love the idea of individual cupcakes for your wedding, but you’ve always wanted a tiered wedding cake, why not have both? This gorgeous individual cupcake tier from Martha Stewart is perfect as it looks just like a miniature wedding cake! Just choose shades of icing to suit your theme.

Autumn treat

Autumn is well and truly here, and what better way to embrace it than with a cup of tea and a cupcake (especially on cupcake Thursday!) These gorgeous autumn inspired creations are from Das Cupcake’s in Germany, and we love that they are both simple and stylish.

Happy cupcake Thursday!

A vintage keepsake

We are currently putting together our gorgeous summer issue and in going through all our wedding submissions we came across this divine idea. Our Real Bride brought vintage plates to serve her cake on and then guests kept them as their keepsake. There were so many more heartfelt and handmade details in this wedding you will have to wait and see our Summer issue on sale in December.. this was really just to tease you!..

Beautiful Bomboniere Buffet

We love it when sweet treats arrive at the office, and we certainly have been spoiled lately!
One of our recent treats was a sample from the new Sisko Chocolate Bomboniere Buffet Collection – a beautifully-boxed chocolate orb containing a sugared almond and small paper scroll with a personalised message.

We love the idea of having a beautifully-arranged “buffet” of favours that your guests can choose from – and with a range of items including delicate handcrafted flowers, hearts, and beautiful birds, there’s something to suit every theme. Sisko founder Christina Tantsis can even create stunning personalised shapes just for you – imagine a stunning chocolate Eiffel Tower for a Parisian themed celebration!

For more information about these gorgeous handcrafted delights, head to the Sisko website.

By the seaside

In the heat of summer, who doesn’t want to be by the ocean?! We were so inspired by this picture of Real Groom Simon and his groomsmen (below) that we created a beautiful Nautical styling section in our new summer 2009 issue – sure to give you plenty of ideas if you’re planning a celebration by the sea! Just have a look at the cake we featured!

Anchor cake from Cake Occasions

In Issue 7 we featured the wedding of Tamsin and Simon, which also had a nautical theme – and so many beautiful details!

For the stationery, a sailboat motif:

For the placecards, named and numbered boats:

For the favours, matchboxes with cute nautical decoration:

There are many more fantastic nautical ideas in our summer 2009 issue, out on Wednesday (just two more days!). Enjoy…

A favourable gift

Ever since the tradition of giving guests a wedding favour began, brides and grooms have been searching high and low to find unique, meaningful gifts that their guests will enjoy. Finding something that represents you and your values as a couple can be a time consuming process!

In response to several brides looking for wedding favours that makes a difference, the NSW Cancer Council created their own. For a minimum donation of $2 per guest, they will supply a pin badge for each wedding guest, placed on a specially designed card, which the bridal couple can personalise with a message for their guests.

Whether you’ve recently lost a loved one to cancer, or are simply passionate about making a difference, these favours will make a lasting impression. They can be ordered by email giftsthings@nswcc.org.au, or phone 1300 780 113.
