Real Weddings Annual Style Issue – On Sale Friday

It’s finally here our Real Weddings Annual Style Issue goes on sale this week. We think you will agree it is full of all the things you love – details, details and more details. Plenty of real style weddings for you to devour and be sure to check out our Peaches and Cream theme – a taste for you to enjoy below.

Gorgeous Green

For those that already have a copy of our Real Weddings Style 2009 issue, you’ll know that our founding editor, Kirsten MacKelden, is obsessed with the colour green! She has a green Ted Baker trenchcoat, sits next to a green wall in the RW office, and has filled the office with lovely green kikki-K stationery!

It was during our green photoshoot for the Style edtion that Kirsten fell in love with these napkins from Table Art

… and ordered enough tablecloths and napkins to seat 16 people – this is one lady who loves to entertain! So the next time the RW team go round to Kirsten’s house, we expect it to look like this:

And if it’s not too much trouble Kirsten, perhaps you could lay down some lawn and scatter a few trees around?

As further proof of Kirsten’s love of green, we’ve created a spectacular “Gorgeous Green” feature in our new Real Weddings Style issue, which is on sale today – with a green cover! Inside you will find ideas not only for weddings that feature the colour green, but some fantastic tips for making your wedding as eco-friendly as possible. Head down to your nearest newsagency to get your copy now! x

Style sneak peak – Country

Happy Friday! We hope you’ve all had a fantastic week, and have something fun planned for the weekend. It’s been a milestone week for the Real Weddings blog – we hit our 100th post! We love sharing all our favourite finds and ideas with you, and we hope you’re enjoying everything we’ve shared so far – feel free to leave us a comment and let us know what you think, or what you’d like to see in future!

And if hitting 100 posts wasn’t exciting enough, it’s not long now until our fourth Real Weddings Style annual collector’s edition is released! To celebrate, we thought we’d give you another sneak peak of what’s inside. So far we’ve shared some vintage glamour and a floral fantasy – today it’s country splendour, with this gorgeous wedding held in Victoria’s Yarra Valley in autumn. Our Real Bride Pippa wore a stunning Akira gown, and gave her wedding a rustic French provincial feel – fresh herbs, berries and grains were everywhere! We adored the incredible wreaths that florist Victoria Whitelaw created for the church pews, and the elegant stationery by papyrus design (below). Enjoy… x

A-head of the crowd

You might have noticed already, but we love headpieces! Hats, flowers, fascinators, headbands and ribbons – we love them all as feminine alternatives to a veil.

Real Bride Alisa wore this gorgeous floral fascinator at her marriage to Damian in Issue 15.

In our upcoming style edition, you’ll see Real Bride Kate wearing this beautiful bloom with her Steven Khalil gown.

We recently saw some gorgeous new floral-inspired pieces from one of our favourite milliners, Hatmaker, that would we think would be just beautiful for a vintage or art-deco inspired celebration!

Cuffs and Headpieces

As you know, we are in love with details, adornments and decorative touches – especially when it comes to the bride! So when Helen Rodrigues sent us some images of Jenny Packham’s new bridal collection, this amazing headpiece and cuff set stole our hearts!

Fellow gorgeous gown designer Johanna Johnson creates stunning beaded headscarves that look amazing with her vintage-inspired designs (below). We saw another amazing headpiece in Issue 13, when our Real Bride Adrianna wore a stunning Art Deco-inspired piece featuring Swarovski crystals. And in our new Real Wedding Style, available next month, one of our Real Brides wore beautiful vintage lace cuffs from Organza Mumu (bottom). We think headpieces and cuffs add an extra touch of glamour to your look – we look forward to seeing more of them!

London Inspiration Part 8: Palm Trees

Summer is only a few months away now (hooray!), and we’re getting in the mood with this inspirational image our Founding Editor Kirsten’s recent trip to London!

We love the palm tree motif on these gorgeous Sicilian Lime candles from Ortigia in Italy, and think it would make a fabulous theme for a summer wedding – whether you’re celebrating on a tropical island or not! There are so many ways to include this design in your celebration, from your stationery to your floral arrangements – even your wedding favours!

In our current issue we featured these images taken from a wedding in the Bahamas – the palm tree motif appeared on passport holders, luggage tags, place settings and even photo album favours. The full story of this gorgeous wedding will appear in our December issue, but we wanted to share it with you now!

We adore these sweet Palm Tree cookie cutter favours from Pink Frosting

We spotted this urn at Brylane Home: wouldn’t it look fabulous filled with a tropical punch, perhaps as part of a table centrepiece?

Real Weddings Style: Sneak Peak!

There is now less than a month to go until the 2009 edition of Real Weddings Style comes out, and we’re so excited about it that we just had to share a pic or three with you!

When we saw the beautiful wedding of Tamsin and Richard at Peppers Convent, we were so inspired by the stunning floral arrangements and the soft pastel colours that we just had to create a gorgeous Floral Fantasy feature to inspire you with fantastic ideas as well! We had such fun finding beautiful gowns, flowers, stationery and cakes to share with you – enjoy! And be sure to get your copy of Real Weddings Style in September!
