As the son of award winning British designer and restauranteur Sir Terence Conran and best-selling author Shirley Conran, Jasper Conran was born with a natural creative flair. With a decorated career spanning over 30 years, he is known as an authority on British style and tailoring.
Jasper designed his first collection in 1979, aged just 19. The following year he was elected to the London Designer collections, and by 1983 he had won two ‘Fil d'Or' International Linen awards. By the mid eighties Jasper Conran was an internationally established label, and in 1986 Conran was awarded British Designer of the Year.
An exclusive clothing line for the Debenhams store group in the nineties allowed a wider audience to buy into the distinctive Jasper Conran style. Today that association has expanded to include jeans, accessories & hosiery, home wares, bridal wear, children's wear, lingerie and most recently, menswear.
Jasper began designing his signature range of crystal for Waterford in 1999. His relationship with the brand grew over time, and the designer now has four unique lines for Waterford and five lines of china for Wedgwood, including the bold ‘Chinoiserie' and elegant ‘Platinum Stripe' patterns.
In the new millennium Jasper extended himself further by entering the perfume industry, launching his signature fragrance in 2003, and two colourful summer scents, Jasper Conran II Man and Woman in 2005. The talented designer has also created a range of fabrics and wallpapers for Designers Guild, and a unique collection of contemporary fireplaces for Chesney's.
The Jasper Conran flagship store opened in a four-storey Georgian home in London's Mayfair in 2005 and now stocks all the Jasper Conran high end-collections, as well as exclusive made-to-order furniture line, all under one roof.
