It was like six degrees of separation. Jacqui and Nick were both on holiday in seperately in Queensland visiting friends. As it turned out, their friends were also friends and introduced the pair when out at a bar. Together for 2 years, nick, a former AFL footballer, proposed to Jacqui when they were holidaying in tropical Koh Samui.

Twelve months later on a stunning cloudless day, the couple were married at the historic St John’s Anglican Church in Sorrento on Victoria’s beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Jacqui wore a gorgeous strapless Baccini & Hill designed gown, her mum’s pearl earrings and pearl bracelet, along with slinky electric blue Manolo Blahnik shoes.

The willowy blonde bride only started to get nervous on the way to the church with her bridesmaids, who had surprisingly been more nervous than the bride. Likewise nick only got nervous when the reverend told him that his bride had arrived at the church.

Any wedding jitters however were completely forgotten when Jacqui asked nick for a handkerchief midway through the ceremony. “What he pulled out of his pocket look like it had been there for weeks even though it was brand new. The bridesmaids caught sight of it and we were all in hysterics,” Jacqui reminisced.

After the wedding, family and friends moved on to the reception set amongst picturesque rolling sand dunes. Blessed with a stunning sunset and surrounded by grass and natural vegetation, a beautiful marquee provided a romantic backdrop for the glamorous all-white wedding celebration.

Inside the marquee a striking floral display featuring huge vases with masses of white flowers was the focal point of the space lit by glowing candlelight. Tables were decorated with square glass vases filled with white flowers lit by tea light candles, while a beautiful square white cake was also decorated with an abundance of white blooms.

A colourful and fun lolly buffet meanwhile featured a quaint wooden birdhouse with a handwritten love message. The couple’s first dance, ‘come what May’ from Moulin rouge capped off a fabulous day.

“The day absolutely flew. Nothing stressed us at all; it was just perfect…”
