Brent Guerra and Rachel Box discovered their dream wedding location on the banks of the Murray River - a historic station steeped in history and charm.

“It was an incredible venue and we really wanted to be able to get married and have our reception at the same place. There were also so many amazing photo opportunities on the property,” Rachel said.

A born planner, Rachel described the lead-up to their wedding day as “all part of the fun”. “I wasn’t stressed, I just looked at it as planning the biggest party of our lives!” she said.

The couple wanted the event to have a simple, country feel with as much DIY as possible, taking cues from the rustic packing shed which housed their reception.

“The venue was so amazing that we didn’t need decorations as such, only simple flowers and hundreds of tea lights in lace and hessian-covered jars,” Rachel said.

The late afternoon ceremony enabled everyone to enjoy the magical weather while Rachel transformed into a breathtaking bride.

“I wanted a simple dress that was comfortable yet classy and allowed movement on the dance floor. My dress was exactly what I had imagined,” she said.

Brent and his groomsmen wore tailored blue-grey wool suits highlighted with white poplin French cuff shirts containing a subtle blue overcheck.

The Champagne flowed after the garden ceremony and guests headed to the huge balcony overlooking the majestic river for roaming entrées. A seated main course was to follow. The evening was the party the couple had imagined, and after some entertaining speeches, Brent instigated a dance-off with some willing friends before belting out a rendition of his favourite song The Horses by Daryl Braithwaite.
