Great experience, food was excellent and so was the service.

Birthday celebration meal at this stunning restaurant made it an experience to remember for all the right reasons. Highly recommended.

Had a surprise 93rd for my Father with 24 family members. Preparation was fantastic, we had a 4 choice 3 course menu. Food was outstanding and service exceptional. Great location.

Went here for an early dinner to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the lamb shoulder to share + side of greens. It just fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious and a very generous portion.
Pavlova dessert was also delicious.
Staff were very attentive, great views, will definitely be back again!

Staff were attentive with drinks and kept us topped up with dribks. The food was delicious, every course of the meal looked and tasted great.

The Public Dining Room is one of my favourite restaurants and it never disappoints. Ive been many times now for dinner (maybe 6 times- Ive lost count!) and always had amazing food, drinks and excellent service. I always highly recommend it. Its in such a perfect location overlooking Balmoral beach and has a great atmosphere. The menu has so many great choices, usually deciding what to get is the hardest part!

Loved it, shared plates that allows tasting several dishes on the menu. Fantastic place for lunch. Service was excellent and streamlined. Drinks options were comprehensive and covered alcohol and not.
Definitely will return to try other options.
Onion souffle and the king fish capacio were both delicious.

My husband took me here for a birthday lunch. Food and service was delicious. Wine was also as recommended by our knowledgeable waiter.

They brought out my dessert plate with Happy Birthday on it for me. Was ridiculously delighted with that little gesture.

Parking (timed) out the front & gorgeous Balmoral Beach views out the back from our window seat. Very very nice!

The Public Dining Room Is a 5 star establishment, very good service and very good food with the best outlook on a sunny day, only one recommendation I can think of is that if a customer does not order oysters or an entree dish it could be worth making the main meal slightly larger. Deserts and cocktails were excellent. Thank you for a great lunch for three people.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Great food and service for my Mums 80th celebration. 17 people was no problem for them! With amazing food, great service and wines. Beautiful views was an added bonus! Thank you so much!

Excellent food presentation as well as flavour. Service was superb.Attentive but not too imposing. Loved the nice touch of a Happy Birthday written in chocolate on a plate with a slice of chocolate cake for my friend.

We went for our anniversary and it was a lovely night overlooking the water. The servings are generous, especially the lamb and we didn't finish everything we ordered! It was all delicious, particularly the brussel sprouts for me and the lamb and puree for my partner. We couldn't say no to dessert, which was a fab souffle! The waiter even prepared a small fudge plate to celebrate our anniversary, which was service above and beyond I appreciated

Wonderful dining experience. Food was fresh, well-flavoured & plentiful. Lovely wine choices by the glass. Unobtrusive yet efficient & friendly service. Obvious gorgeous location with minimal decor to enhance the view. Definitely the best of Balmoral and probably the best of the whole north side of Sydney..

Never disappoints. Fabulous cured salmon, scallops and perfectly cooked steak. The brussels sprouts were fabulous. We will be back.

What a surprise for us, been here many years ago. But the food quality and service always upgraded from a high level to another higher level. Feel like home, definitely back again soon.

What a great venue for a little wedding. Amazing views looking out over the water.
The staff were welcoming and attended to our needs throughout the day.
The food was delicious with good portion sizes. Could not fault the wine selection either.

Have dined here three times in the last few months and each dining experience has been excellent. Service is welcoming, professional yet friendly, food is delicious, generous portions, well presented and served in a timely manner. Favourite dishes at the moment are the french onion souffle and the paella. Ambience is relaxed and location is stunning. Highly recommended.

First time there to celebrate our anniversary. Picture perfect day and table by windows overlooking baths. Welcoming and friendly service. We knew the lamb shoulder was a large helping for 2 so shared salmon brioche appetiser. The lamb with vegetables was perfect. After a break a lemon meringue shell and a valrhona chocolate desserts. Coffees to finish.

I booked this restaurant for lunch for my elderly parents 65th wedding anniversary. Could not fault any part of the experience, from speaking to them to make a very complex dietary booking, to being greeted, seated and cared for with kindness and respect. Shout out to Ute who my 94yo mother described as an absolute angel. The food was plentiful and of very good quality, the aspect for seating was perfect, and they surprised mum and dad with a Happy Anniversary plate with their after-meal chocolates. I couldnt be more satisfied, nor could my father who would have given them 6/5 for the whole experience. With many thanks for their support and cooperation on the day. We will certainly return.

We had a very pleasant experience, yet again, at the PDR with friends from the USA. The ability to share our aged wines with them a particular pleasure when you afford us the opportunity to do BYO. Much appreciated by all.

Lovely impromptu evening. We had prawns and soft shell crab for entree and kingfish cervical and the charcuterie plate for mains. Yummy.

Kylie & the team were fantastic in helping us create the perfect wedding! We had both our ceremony and reception at Public Dining Room & are so glad we pick this beautiful spot for our special day. Not only is the view and restaurant amazing the food was fanatic, we have had so many compliments! Kylie really helped create our own special day and allowed us to make little touches very personal and unique to us. She was so pleasant to work with from the very first day & helped us with all our questions. A special shout out to the bar manager for the fantastic wine & the best espresso martinis!!!

We had a lovely evening last night (21/10/2023) at Public Dining Room, celebrating the anniversary of our first date. The ambience was just lovely and waiters were very attentive. The food is highly recommended. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth the investment for a special occasion. We will certainly be back!

Great place for an evening dinner with excellent food, good wine selection and terrific view. Could do with more and better wine available by the glass.

The staff were thoughtful and helpful with all of the detail and logistics for our vow renewal ceremony and reception. The event ran smoothly and it was everything we wanted it to be. In particular, the food was incredible.

Me and my wife were celebrating ours 3rd years anniversary here.
Firstly, what a beautiful place to dine in with views of balmoral beach . A warmth smile and welcome from the staff makes us feel like at home, furthermore love all theirs foods!!! Pan-seared scallop, super juicy blue-eye and eye fillet were cooked into perfection thanks to the chefs, also they have many selections of wine here.
Definitely will come back here!!!

Fabulous casual atmosphere with delicious food overlooking Balmoral beach - what more could you want? We had an amazing time! The prawns, scallops and kingfish ceviche were a highlight. Just a warning - if your man loves steak, he should expect divine quality but definitely not quantity!

An outstanding afternoon in the private room with 18 of my family to celebrate my mums 80th. Food was amazing , as we spent 5 hours to celebrate with incredibly attentive service and a enjoyed the view and our own space. Amazing

I couldn't be happier with my experience! I just hosted a private event at the restaurant over the weekend and it was amazing! In the lead-up both Kylie and Salli were so accommodating and helpful in planning the event, and on the day it was executed so well by all the restaurant staff. Even with such a large group to cater for, the food was amazing, and the service was incredibly friendly and responsive.

Would definitely recommend Public Dining Room for any occasion.

Beautiful location, warm atmosphere, exceptional menu and friendly service. Our group of 32 had the set menu (4 options for entree and mains + sides) and every meal looked and tasted devine. Wine menu is incredible. Our budget was $150 a person inc drinks and the staff helped us stick to it. Nothing was too much effort for the entire staff who made our day extra special. Thank you!
