The Centre Ivanhoe features five distinct heritage-listed spaces managed exclusively by Peter Rowland: The Great Hall (seating up to 500 or 800 cocktail), The Streeton Room (seating up to 220 or 300 cocktail), The McCubbin Room (seating up to 110 or 200 cocktail), The Condor Room (seating up to 70 or 100 cocktail), and The Withers Room (seating up to 50 or 80 cocktail).
Absolutely. While the venue showcases world-class, authentic 1930s architecture, all rooms are fully modernised with advanced event tech. Features include dramatic built-in presentation stages, high-speed Wi-Fi, professional sound networks, customisable feature lighting systems, and high-definition projectors with retractable screens overseen by our technical team.
The Centre Ivanhoe occupies the former Heidelberg Town Hall, opened in April 1937. Designed by architectural firm Peck & Kemter in association with A.C. Leith & Bartlett for the Heidelberg City Council (now Banyule City Council), the building drew its architectural influence from the Hilversum Town Hall in the Netherlands.
It is heritage listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
