A unique and inspiring wedding venue, fortyfivedownstairs occupies a 19th century warehouse building which now operates as a contemporary art gallery.
The venue composes of two spaces – the Exhibition Space upstairs features high pressed metal ceilings and a beautiful arched window. Downstairs, The Theatre space is where weddings receptions are held. This floor features dramatic arched windows, a high ceiling and white brick walls – an iconic Melbourne warehouse space.

fortyfivedownstairs occupies a 19th century rag trade building which operates as a contemporary art gallery. The space features high pressed metal ceilings and a beautiful arched window admitting just the right amount of soft, southern light. The exhibition space is ideal when used in conjunction with the theatre space for a wedding ceremony and then reception downstairs.
Located under the exhibition space, the theatre space is used predominantly for performance; yet there are occasions when the room is available for event hire. Featuring dramatic arched windows, a high ceiling and weathered floor this area looks dramatic with feature lighting and hanging flowers taking advantage of the stage lighting grid. This space can accommodate cocktail parties for up to 300 guests and seated events for up to 160 guests.
