Blue haze hangs over the mountains in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. Bordering Sydney’s metropolitan area, the region encompasses eucalyptus forests, steep cliffs, and waterfalls. Villages in the Blue Mountains are dotted with guesthouses, galleries, and gardens.

One of the galleries, Blue Mountains City Art Gallery, features major exhibitions. Lost Bear Gallery displays a diverse mix of fine art in addition to an outdoor sculpture garden, and the Norman Lindsay Gallery displays the artist’s work. Blue Mountains Cultural Centre boasts the Blue Mountains City Art Gallery and World Heritage Exhibition.

There are numerous arts and cultural venues in the Blue Mountains. Museums include the NSW Rail Transport Museum, Mount Victoria Museum, and Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum. Blue Mountains Theatre in Springwood and Clarendon Dinner Theatre in Katoomba provide live entertainment.

Beauty created by nature can be found at Blue Mountains Botanic Garden and The Campbell Rhododendron Garden. Everglades Historic House & Gardens reveals a 1930s art deco house, bluebell woodland, flowering and lawned terraces, stone walls and winding paths, glades, pools, and fountains.

Blue Mountains National Park features stunning scenery with its valleys, sandstone rock formations, rainforests, and waterfalls. The landscape is blanketed with colorful wildflowers and green eucalyptus trees. Adventurers go 4wdriving, horse riding, mountain biking, canyoning, caving, abseiling, canoeing, and rock climbing.

Scenic World is on the edge of Blue Mountains National Park. The tourist attraction is home to the Scenic Railway, the world's steepest incline railway, and the Scenic Skyway which offers aerial views of the rainforest. Each year, exhibiting artists transform the rainforest into an outdoor gallery with their Sculpture at Scenic World entries.

Scenic World is near the Three Sisters, a dramatic rock formation that is best seen from Echo Point Lookout. Jenolan Caves is another natural wonder which features eleven show caves and underground rivers as well as formations. Visitors are welcome to tour the caves and, above ground, hike through the bush and around Blue Lake. There are many activities to enjoy in the Blue Mountains.
