And keep an eye out for the wedding featuring James’ designs in our summer issue, we are hard at work putting it together as we speak!

White Designs website goes live!
We’re very excited that the new White Designs website is now live, particularly because we can see footage of some of the beautiful weddings we have featured in the magazine including Shen-Tel and Bobby (above) and Chantelle and Aaron, as well as some special details from the weddings of Guy Sebastian, Ada Nicodemou, and Libby Trickett!
It the perfect way to warm your heart on a chilly winter’s day – we certainly had a little teary moment watching some of the footage! So head over to www.whitedesigns.com.au for a little mid-morning swoon!
A musical marriage
Oh my do we have another treat for you today – a wedding full of music and laughter! Meet Sarah and Ben Knop, one of the sweetest, most fun young couples ever!
First, let’s start with the proposal. Before they were even a couple, Sarah mentioned to Ben that when she was proposed to, she wanted the Goo Goo Dolls song “Slide” played to her. Ben never forgot this, and when the time came to pop the question, he brought a group of friends along to her work and serenaded her! Here’s the video….
One of our favourite details of Sarah and Ben’s celebration was their gorgeous stationery, created by their friend. Isn’t it sweet?
The couple also arranged a “Red Carpet” entrance for their guests, with two “MC’s” interviewing guests – and the whole thing was photographed and filmed!
We also loved the touches of purple throughout the day – and that delectable macaroon tower!
But perhaps our favourite detail of all was at the end of their ceremony, when a friend started walking up the aisle singing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”…. and suddenly several of the guests popped out of the audience and began playing the brass solo!
A big congratulations to you Sarah and Ben, and thanks for sharing your fun-filled celebration with us!

Real Wedding – Melody and Demos
We love a bride with her own unique style – something a little different to the norm. Doesn’t everyone? So we were very excited to receive an email from Craig Paulson telling us about “the most fashionable wedding I have ever shot”… and then to see photos of the couple, Melody and Demos.
The couple first met on Friendster.com five years ago, and were married in Long Island City, New York last July, with a celebration full of unique ideas. First of all, the gown: Melody purchased her dress from a vintage store in Manhattan for $350.
“It has no tags, so it might be homemade, circa the 50’s/60’s. It was full length and I had it cut off to be short in the front and long in the back, added a jeweled belt, and basically redesigned the entire thing to be more modern,” Melody said.
Melody’s headpiece was purchased on Etsy.com, and is actually three things all pinned together! And let’s not forget the Christian Louboutin shoes…
But we particularly loved the sweet stationery, beautiful cake and bride red flowers!
Melody had just one bridesmaid, her sister Valerie, who wore a silver linen mini dress by Foley and Corinna, and Calvin Klein shoes.
One of the couple’s favourite moments was walking out to their recessional song, Lemonheads “Into your arms” and practially skipping down the aisle: “at the end we stopped and just hugged each other for what seemed like hours!”
Congratulations Melody and Demos!
