Zoe Zaparas and Cameron Jones

Zoe and Cameron's garden delight celebration..

Describe how you met and the marriage proposal.

We met in highschool. Cameron proposed on a holiday in Bali. We were staying in Ubud in a beautiful resort overlooking expansive rainforest. We were having a private dinner in our villa.

Describe the lead-up and planning of your wedding.

Lots of fun. We flew up to Sydney a couple of times for the wedding dress. The girls went to Byron Bay and the boys went to Thailand for a bit of pre-wedding fun. We also had a 'Ladies Day' which was a long catered lunch at my house for my girlfriends and family members.

Describe your wedding day - your memories and highlights of the lead-up, ceremony and reception

It really was better than I ever could have imagined. The weather was perfect with warm blue skies. I was so eager to get there and it was very exciting being lead down the aisle. After the ceremony we had 'Vineyard drinks' up in the vineyard, with canapés, drinks and music. This was a particularly special time. Then we moved into the reception which had stunning flower arrangements. The food was delicious and the speeches were excellent. Everyone danced all night and didn't want the night to end.

Describe the process of choosing the wedding outfits, in particular, your gown.

My gown was Oscar De La Renta and we bought it from Helen Rodrigues in Sydney. It was lovely to head up to Sydney and make a day/night of the process. The second time I went up to Sydney, I had found the dress. There was no mistaking it. It was divine.

The girls wore Collette Dinnigan dresses. They all look just magnificent in them. They were colourful, elegant and so appropriate for the vineyard.

The boys had their suits made and I understand they quite enjoyed the process of getting together and having tailored suits made by, "The Suit Shop".

Describe any moments that were

  • Funny - My husband leading me up to the dance floor at the end of his speech with a box full of plates to smash. This is a Greek Tradition which is rarely performed anymore, and it was a hilarious touch.
  • Emotional or touching - Dancing our first dance together with my husband in the vineyard whilst two of our closest friends who came back from overseas sang our wedding song - Crash Into Me by Dave Matthew's Band;& the speeches were emotional and funny.
  • Stressful - moments before we left the house. Feeling like we were running late and so many things happening at once.

Do you have any pieces of advice for other brides/couples?

Enjoy every moment along the way. It is such a great opportunity to spoil your family and friends and make every occasion a celebration.

What song did you choose for your ‘First Dance" and why?

Crash Into Me - by Dave Matthews. We have listened to that song for many years together and both love it very much.

What perfume did you wear on your wedding day?
