RealWeddings Guide
Georgia Young Couture is the eponymous label of Melbourne designer Georgia Young, who taught herself to sew as a child, trained formally in couture, and spent three years working inside a Melbourne couture house before launching her own brand in
2023.
Every gown is handcrafted made-to-order in her Brunswick studio, built around a design philosophy of "elegance through restraint": strong lines, geometric shapes, clean fabrics and an architectural, sculptural approach to silhouette that favours proportion and line over heavy embellishment.
The label was explicitly "created for the bride that didn't want to look like a 'bride,'" positioning itself for fashion-forward brides who see their wedding gown as an extension of personal style rather than a costume.
Georgia taught herself to sew from a young age, began working in the industry at fifteen, and trained in couture before spending three years in a Melbourne couture house — knowledge she now brings to her own label. Her designs target the modern bride, built around strong lines, geometric shapes, and clean fabrics, with distinctive details that set each piece apart from traditional bridal wear.
Made-to-order gowns from our existing collections, a fully custom couture design experience, and veil and jewellery accessories to complete the look.
Made-to-order means choosing a piece from our curated collection, made to your personal measurements — ordered directly through our Brunswick studio or via our worldwide stockists.
Custom couture is a completely one-off, custom-designed gown with full in-house fitting, and is offered to a select group of just 5 clients per year.
We recommend a minimum of 9 months' notice, though rush timelines may be accommodated in some cases — worth asking directly if you're working to a tighter deadline.
