The Langham, Melbourne

Love this hotel. Stayed here a few times. Always most enjoyable.
The location is fantastic on Southgate and close to the centre of Melbourne. The staff are polite and well trained. The rooms are tastefully decorated. Well definitely come back again

We went for the High Tea on Tuesday. The food was exceptional and plentiful! We couldn't eat it all! Everything was beautifully made - the freshly baked savoury scones with sour cream and their homemade relish were out of this world!!! The selection of little cakes were creative and decadent and the sandwiches very tasty and soft. The low gluten options were great too. A perfect way to celebrate a friend's birthday - they even bought out a GF cake for her! 10 out of 10!!!!!

Great stay here a week or so ago for 2 nights. The club lounge staff were fantastic. The buffet dinner has an amazing selection. Very happy.

Had a great experience with Christos at the front counter. Patiently showed me a number of alternative rooms to choose from for our 30th wedding anniversary. Looking forward to our stay in November. Thank you for your help Christos & good luck with your tourist career.

Stayed 3 nights 5-8 Jun 23. Excellent view of Melbourne CBD from my room and pleasant breakfast buffet spread with nice people-watching of morning crowd along Yarra River. Rooms are a little small for a 5 stars hotel but nothing else to grumble about.

Great place to stay while I was in Melbourne. Good location, good service and wide selection for breakfast.

Hotel interior is dated but clean.

Had an excellent stay except for the oysters on the last night that gave me food poisoning.

Great classic hotel

We stayed at The Langham for only one night midweek (wished we could have stayed longer) and we adored it it was absolutely beautiful we stayed in the middle of winter and it had the perfect romantic, cozy feel to it making it a very homely base in the very centre of the city. The location cant be beat, right near Flinders Street Station and close to Crown on the beautiful promenade next to the river, the views are my favourite of any Melbourne hotel. As soon as you walk in, the hotel has a beautiful musk smell and old world charm. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and the corridors large making it not feel claustrophobic. We were able to use the rooftop indoor pool and heated spa which was invaluable during winter. We loved how the spa was truely hot and we could swim in the pool because it was a perfect temperature - hard to find in hotels. Staff were professional and friendly, always saying hello or good morning - nothing was too much trouble and they made you feel special. 5 all the way and highly recommend xx

Great view.

The room was very clean and the aesthetic fits the hotel. I'd call it old school charm rather than dated. Some of the newer hotels can feel sterile in the search for modernity.

The shower could use better lighting.

Chaun Spa is excellent. The men's Sauna was empty in the middle of the day as was the pool and jacuzzi. It would make a great mid week break.

Aria bar was good. The Negroni was well made. I had a late night meal at 930pm. The fish was well cooked and the desert was nice. But, given the quality of restaurants in the area, I didn't try mush else. I ate at Asado and got take away pizza and meat plate from DOC. It was excellent to be so close to such excellent restaurants.

Trams are really close. So is the train.

I spent quite a bit of time just looking out the window and reading.

Stay was 3 days. 2 days working on moving house. 1 day off. Day off was superb. The two days I worked were big days. I slept very well. The bed was excellent.

Beautiful hotel - the lobby smells incredible!

Conveniently located and only a short walk to the heart of the CBD. The spa & pool facilities were fantastic. Large number of lounge chairs on the terrace and an under cover heated pool & hot tub.

Room service was great with a decent selection on the menu. Staff are also super friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend adding on the buffet breakfast. Great selection with plenty of options including lots of fresh fruit and a juicing station. They even have a chocolate fountain & ice cream.

Perfect location to get to restaurants and entertainment, although the hotels restaurant is fantastic too. Staff are all friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful motel and within walking distance to the city, great eateries and so many wonderful must sees in Melbourne. We also tried the Melba restaurant buffet which had so many beautiful dishes on offer and honestly can not say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff were.

This is my idea of a perfect hotel with character and comfort and class. The staff are absolutely fantastic - Id like to quote Carl from customer relations who said We always try and accommodate our guests wishes.
Our now grown up kids came for the first time and loved the hotel too - we swam each day, (the pool is enclosed and heated to 26 degrees and it was great even in the middle of winter), they used the gym and said it was actually really good.
We all loved the buffet breakfast, the eggs were cooked to perfection whether it be an omelette or poached.
The hash browns were ridiculously good as was the bacon - hard to do in a buffet situation.
The view from our room, 1529, was fantastic.
The room service meal was hot - yes - even the chips! And so good. Only small quibble was fruit bread was served with the cheese plate and it just wasnt a good match. Some plain crackers would have been better.
We were able to check in a bit earlier which was super kind of them and any correspondence I had before our trip was answered promptly.
On check out there was a discrepancy and Carl fixed it straight away.
The bathroom is fully equipped and I particularly like the retractable washing line over the bath perfect for drying wet swimmers.
I would like the shower to have a hand held attachment too - the fixed overhead shower head was nice but most places have both now and its great for less flexible or fat people - of which I am both!
The fridge was a good size for our own wine that we had brought with us and there were even chilled champagne flutes in it!
The hotel sent up a lovely cup cake for my birthday. Very delicious and thoughtful.
The Aria bar had a limited cocktail list, I think there is serious room for improvement there. My daughter ordered a cocktail and it was so sour we sent it back and they gave her a different one.
Again very good service because everything doesnt always run perfectly but the general attitude of all staff we encountered couldnt have been more helpful or positive.
Special thanks to the staff at the main entry for tips on getting around and their help with parking and luggage.
The Ubers we caught all arrived quickly and with no troubles and walking around to the art gallery and other places like the casino was easy.
We also walked over the bridge to all the little alleyways and arcades.
Our kids were more adventurous taking trams, trains and buses and they had some fun doing it.
All in all we thought it was our best family holiday ever.

For a true 5 star experience look nowhere else. In a perfect location, the staff are so courteous and professional, rooms are so well presented with comfy bedding. The buffet breakfast and dining options available is insane and the quality of food is amazing.

Booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resort which allowed for a generous credit on in-room dining, daily breakfast for two, amongst more. This perk is what elevated the experience from four to five stars.The in-room dining was excellent, as was the buffet breakfast which provided for a range of food options and fresh juices. The Langham felt old but not necessarily in a bad way. The decor is traditional but not dated per se. There are definitely some fixtures and furniture in the rooms that can be replaced, but generally, the rooms are a very pleasant and clean-feeling place to be. The room's climate control was good, the TV was large and modern, and provided in-room amenities were plentiful. One thing that was missing was a full length shoe horn. The service was attentive and courteous from check-in to check-out. As far as hotel amenities go, there is nothing missing (including pressing, turndown service, etc...) and help was always just a call away.

My experience at The Langham, Melbourne was simply outstanding! I attended a vendor event for the Health Insurance industry, and I was thoroughly impressed by the top-notch service and offerings.

The food provided was exceptional, and I found myself indulging in some unforgettable dishes. The cajun spiced chicken was bursting with flavour, and the butter chicken was a delightful treat for my taste buds. The Goan fish curry was a pleasant surprise, and I couldn't get enough of it. Not to mention the wide selection of salads, staples, and small desserts that satisfied every craving.

The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the event, including the stationery provided. It added a touch of elegance and professionalism to the proceedings. Moreover, the quality of the tea and coffee service was top-notch, ensuring that guests enjoyed their beverages to the fullest.

I havent been to Melbourne for a long time. Maybe it is expected level of service. But I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, the service and a small gym facilities at the Langham. I was offered a late checking and managed to have another cup of coffee while listening to some classical piano play

The rooms were large and location was convenient for my office as it was right next to the IBM office. The evening stroll was good along the banks of Yarra river and lots of restaurants with great seating and views.

Wonderful experience again with smiling friendly staff from check in to check out. Nothing was a problem with every request promptly and warmly responded to. Look forward to our next stay.

For my husband's birthday, we booked a suite with a one-bedroom. The hotel's uniqueness was its personalized service. Upon entering, the front desk informed us that we could access Langham Club benefits, including free high tea and evening drinks and snacks.
I am blown away by the personalised service at this hotel when it comes to assisting guests. The welcome message on the TV included my husband's name, along with a sweet cake with a birthday message, and a complementary ironing service.
When we met Carlos in the club for drinks, he made our experience even better, his hospitality and speaking skills were outstanding, and we wish him every success. We were constantly checking to see if everything was okay, and without asking, he offered us a variety of food on the table, which made us think they cared about the customers. He deserves an award for his work.
Room service was slow and not very good, and there were a few hygiene problems. The spa tub in my room did not appear to be clean and was very dusty, and the face washers near the tub had hair on them, indicating they did not even bother to clean it.

In spite of these factors, I gave the hotel 5 stars because the other aspects were excellent. We felt so special as we were provided with so many personalised services, that we decided to return every time for special occasions.

Throughly enjoyed our stay! Everything was great, the buffet dinner at Melba is a must and be sure to get the buffet breakfast too. Everything is so delicious. The freshly made omelette was amazing. One thing I have to mention is the amazing pineapple and ginger Jam that chef Vy makes in house for breakfast. Its delicious

Had a really nice stay at The Langham Melbourne.

The Indian food was the highlightChef Deo S. Pals dishes felt just like home, especially the sambar, idli, lamb curry, and masala chai.
