Congratulations to Atlantic Group [v] and restauranteur Alla Wolf Tasker, who were both honoured at the Victorian Restaurant and Catering Association Awards for Excellence on Monday night!

Atlantic Group [v] won both the Caterer of the Year and Wedding Caterer of the Year awards in recognition for fantastic service across its four venues – Peninsula, Atlantic, Sumac and Sketch – in Melbourne’s Docklands precinct.

Highly respected chef and restauranteur Alla, of the gorgeous Lake House in Daylesford, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for services to the industry.

Yervant Photography – Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year!

We received some fantastic news when we arrived at the office this morning: Melbourne photographer Yervant Zanazanian of Yervant Photography is being recognised for his exquisite bridal pictures at the Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards in Sydney tonight, where he will be presented with the 2009 AIPP Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year award!

Yervant began taking photos at a young age while helping his father, a professional photographer serving the royal family of Emperor Hailé Silasée of Ethiopia. He is already a life member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers, and was voted Australia’s number one wedding photographer by Capture, Australia’s top selling professional photography magazine, in 2007 and 2008.

His portfolio was one of more than 2,300 entries by 655 professional and student photographers at this year’s AIPP awards. A selection of his images will appear in the 2009 Canon AIPP APPA book, and become part of an exhibition tour which begins in Melbourne on October 12.

Hats off!

I don’t know if you know but there are few of us Real Weddings girls that are mad about hats! Our gorgeous friends at Hatmaker were awarded ‘Best Australian Accessory Designer’  at the Prix De Marie Claire Awards 2009! Our annual Style issue featured his amazing designs in our Hat Feature so we are very proud of their achievement! His Autumn 09 racewear collection (pictured) is now in store, but you can get a sneak peek online, as well as their bridal collection.. Hats off to Jonathon and the rest of the team. xx

Real Weddings Wins Magazine of the Year!


Real Weddings has again been named Australia ‘Magazine of the Year’ at the Publisher’s Australia’ Bell Awards held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on Friday 21st November 2008.


Real Weddings was declared the unanimous winner, with the judges commenting:
