Her name is synonymous with elegance and timeless style, and her bridal and homewares collections are prized by both blushing brides and married couples celebrating special occasions all over the world. She is Monique Lhuillier, renowned by her clients, her peers, and the industry as an innovative, award-winning designer.

Born in the Philippines, Monique developed a love of glamorous fashion at an early age with trips to Paris and LA, but it was while studying at a prestigious Swiss boarding school that she first set her sights on becoming a couture designer. She then attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she fell in love with bridal wear, and made it her specialty. But it wasn't until she began planning her own wedding that she decided to pursue the creation of her own bridal label. With the help of her husband Tom Bugbee, Monique launched her first bridal collection in 1996, followed by evening wear in 2001. Her subsequent Ready To Wear collections have been extremely popular, with gowns worn by celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Katie Holmes.

In the early 21st century Monique won several accolades including the Glamorous Bridal Designer Award, the Avant Garde Bridal Designer Award, and a Designer of the Year award from Wedding Dresses Magazine. She was also inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Then, in 2008 she translated her celebrated design skills to home decorating, launching a stunning homewares collection in collaboration with Royal Doulton, which now includes four tableware collections, and the breathtaking Atelier crystal and glassware. Staying true to her belief that sharing meals and exchanging gifts are life's greatest pleasures, Monique has expressed a wish that her designs "will inspire you and everyone you love to come together for great food and conversation."

With 15 highly-decorated years in the design industry already behind her, it is certain that Monique Lhuillier's star will continue to rise for many years to come.
