The Vijitt started life as a private family home located on Friendship Beach and for decades its owners lovingly cared for its tropical gardens before they expanded it into the modern resort it is today

Slate grey pool tiles blend seamlessly into infinity and beyond, with a view overlooking swaying palms. The pool attendant brings us cold towels soaked in lemongrass water and wrapped in chilled pandanas leaf sitting on a bed of ice, providing refreshing relief from the tropical sun.

Spreading out from the pool is a range of individual, hand crafted villas set in rolling manicured lawns. These villas feature Thai architecture and decoration and many are within their own walled compound with their own private pool. The resort's ‘V' Spa is situated high above the ocean on a hillside with a beautiful view of the resort and the ocean. Each treatment is focused on stimulating the five senses: sight, taste, smell, sound and touch. ‘The Vijitt' restaurant provided us with a memorable evening where we experienced authentic Thai dining. With the restaurant's location in the former home of the Vijitt family's Great Grandfather, it's situated right on the beachfront surrounded by beautiful ornamental ponds and palm trees and, together with the wonderful food and the balmy evening, it was the epitome of romance.
