Cadella Park Wedding Venue is a private property located in the tiny town of Cadello, between Woodend and Kyneton in the Macedon Ranges, and is an easy 50-minute drive from Melbourne. Guests enter along a drive bordered by majestic elms, arriving at the ceremony site through old farm gates and a hawthorn hedge. A giant cypress tree provides the backdrop for the ceremony itself with country fields and grazing animals glimpsed beyond.
The old dairy has been converted into a rustic outdoor bar where guests relax and mingle with drinks and canapes in the dappled shade of 15-meter tall pin oaks. The sunsets behind a grove of poplars, flecking the landscape with gold as the air cools. Cadella Park boasts a number of unique locations for photos including rolling fields with views to Mount Macedon and Hanging Rock, wooden stables, hedges, corrugated iron water tanks, and original stone walls.
The wedding reception takes place in the Barn, a generously open event space, lit by vintage sash windows and, later, artisan-made Baroque lanterns. It is the heart of the Cadella Park experience, with plenty of room for seated dining, to graze, feast, or lounge before getting up to dance the night away on Mediterranean style terracotta concrete floors, fuelled by a six-meter long bar in front of an original stone facade.
