Nina & Jason's Wedding at Mosmans Restaurant

Perth, Western Australia

The creatively minded couple, Nina Alldis and Jason North, planned their wedding in just under a year. They chose a restricted white on white colour palette with small accents of pink that gave the wedding a simple sophistication.

“Our venue coordinator joked that she would order some dolphins to swim by the restaurant on the wedding day. As our guests sipped sparkling wine and nibbled panna cotta tarts on the bay’s foreshore, amazingly there were the dolphins! We couldn’t have wished for a better venue or more magical surrounds. We live in such a beautiful place and have so much to be grateful for.”

The wedding colour scheme was kept neutral with dashes of soft pink and silver. The full, pink peonies added a nice contrast to the reception decorations. They also popped against the bridesmaids’ long cream dresses and Nina’s bespoke, white gown with French lace detailing.

“For me there is no flower more beautiful. They are lush, delicate and always sure to impress.” Embodying romance and prosperity peonies are fitting for a wedding celebration. The bridal bouquets were a mixture of bright and pale pink blooms fastened with long pieces of tulle ribbon.

The reception styling featured mirrored table runners and arrangements of white and pink David Austin roses and chrysanthemums. “The candles gleamed in the mirror’s reflection and it seemed like the number of flowers doubled.” Overhead jasmine and ivy hung from the rafters.

As a nod to where Nina and Jason first met, the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, theatre references became part of the wedding styling. For example the ceremony booklets contained the quote, ‘I would not wish any companion in the world but you’ from Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

“I have always been surrounded by creative people. My mum is an incredible caterer and cook, my dad is an architect and my grandma was a performer. Jason and I loved the opportunity to showcase our passion for the arts and styling.”
