Natalie Davies has captured countless love stories during her career as a wedding photographer, but she wasn’t counting on meeting herhusband-to-be on the job! While busily clicking away at a bride and groom one day, she spotted former classmate Daniel Warwick in the crowd. The pair hadn’t seen each other since the early days of secondary school, and absence clearly made the heart grow fonder.

Their fairytale romance was sealed with a surprise proposal on St Kilda’s boardwalk shortly before the couple jetted off for Bali. Returning home after blissful days spent by the pool, the lovebirds switched to wedding mode,  planning a ceremony over the Christmas break when work commitments were minimal. Natalie had a clear vision of her own big day thanks to her wedding industry background, and a Baccini & Hill gown was a definite must.

The soft champagne of the bridesmaids’ dresses was the perfect complement to Natalie’s stunning sculptured gown which featured a delicate pleated bodice, French lace straps and soft layered ruffles which cascaded into a train. Natalie was so breathtaking that both her dad and Daniel burst into tears when she arrived at the picturesque Stones of the Yarra Valley chapel on their perfect January day.

In a sweet gesture, the groomsmen walked down the aisle to take the arm of each bridesmaid as they entered the chapel. Natalie is one of 13 children and Dan is one of three, so their wedding was a real family affair; siblings and nieces were not only in the official bridal party, but stepped in as ushers, ring bearers, witnesses, music co-ordinators and MC.

“Our mothers signed the registry during the ceremony, while my ‘something old’ was an embroidered handkerchief belonging to my grandmother. It was just beautiful and so special considering she has 50 grandchildren,” Natalie said.

Following the lavish dinner reception, many of the guests chose to stay overnight in the Yarra Valley and joined the newlyweds for breakfast the following day.
