Emma Barber and Steve Pullen have nothing but positive memories of the lead-up to their April nuptials.

“Neither of us is particularly good at event planning so I can say it was pretty stress-free because we left it to the experts at Georgeous!” Emma said. “We knew that we wanted it to be a great party and we were open to suggestions when it came to creating a day that really reflected our personalities and style.”

Colour played a strong part in their big day, from the bold use of seasonal blooms to the eclectic vintage tableware at the reception inside Fitzroy Town Hall. The bridal party added to the rainbow effect; each bridesmaid chose her own dress, creating a unique combination of styles.

“Most of the girls live in Brisbane so they flew down for a shopping weekend which was fun and another excuse to catch up,” Emma said.

Emma said the week leading up to the wedding was lots of fun with all of her family and friends arriving from interstate, but the wedding day itself zoomed by.

“I remember feeling nervous about walking down the aisle in front of everyone at the church but when I saw Steve, I just felt happy,” she said.

“It was such a surprise and it all looked beautiful,” Emma said. “My advice would be ‘GET HELP’!, We could not have done it without the professionals – and the catering by Ed Dixon Food Design was amazing; we started with Sydney rock oysters and finished with lemon tarts and ice cream sandwiches! Having someone run the day was really important as it meant we really didn’t have to worry about anything.”

Photographs of family weddings formed part of the reception space, and a collection of the newlyweds’ favourite things were displayed on a table as take-home gifts for guests.
