Bright blooms and lush foliage gave Sarah Sharpe and Benjamin Bell’s wedding a fresh and striking look. Styled arrangements that included ferns and succulents mirrored the beauty outside.

Initially, Sarah found planning quite stressful. “I tried to do as much as possible early, to save costs and time but it wasn’t until I met Lara from White Events that I could really relax. Lara took the reins of everything I had done (which was very little!) and everything still to be done, and created the most wonderful day.”

A clear marquee was an ideal choice for showcasing the surroundings.

The brief for Sarah’s bouquet was to create something distinctive. It featured a strong grouping of hydrangeas, peonies, amaranthus, David Austin roses, poppy pods, orchids and tropical leaves to match the reception table centrepieces.

The wedding was held in a secluded holiday spot in the Dunsborough, Margaret River region. The venue provided open space for the ceremony and a clearing surrounded by native bushland for a private reception area. A clear marquee was an ideal choice for showcasing the surroundings.

The styling of Sarah and Benjamin’s wedding was inspired by the venue’s location. “The area was so green and naturally beautiful that we wanted to incorporate this charm into the wedding design.” The statement pieces of the reception were 3 foliage installations. “I particularly loved the look of the chandelier teamed with lush foliage hanging above the dance floor,” Sarah said.

Sarah and Benjamin hosted an intimate reception. Long tables with neutral coloured linen had place settings of a large white napkin, a small twig of green fern and a menu. The stationery was 2-toned with embossed text and an inversion of white and kraft-tone from front to back. “We used ghost Chiavari chairs for a clean, sophisticated look.

It also meant the arrangements would remain the focus of the tables,” Sarah said. Pops of orange gave the table centrepieces a vibrant colour lift. Roses were added to orchids, ferns, poppy pods and tropical foliage in long, glass vases.
